ABIRD – the Active Background Ion Reduction Device for nanospray has been our flagship product since 2008 when it first was developed for commercial sale. Used in top labs worldwide to improve the signal-to-noise ratios of peptides and produces a consistent low-level background ion signal.
ABIRD-TM-BOTH includes the large table mount kit for mounting on table aside the inlet, the small table mount kit with flexible Teflon tubing for mounting on the top of the instrument.
Additional accessories include the Split Tube Adapter for the nanoFlex Ion source, and three different adapters for the Easy Spray source, all purchased separately.

* Here is the deal, top labs have repeatedly shown ABIRD improving peptide identification up to 50% on complex low-level samples. This can be done when you have an excellent capillary chromatography and nanospray interface, a well-tuned and calibrated instrument, and adequate search engines for analyzing the data. Sorry to say it, but not all labs, OK, most labs running stock parts are not at the sensitivity level needed to demonstrate this.
